The proper name of the parish is Penwortham St Mary.
We are part of the Church of England Diocese of Blackburn. The dedication is to the Virgin Mary, the mother of Jesus. Penwortham is a small town immediately south of the City of Preston in Lancashire, the Red Rose county. The parish covers roughly half of Penwortham.
