Our History

The History of St. Mary’s on the following pages is very  extensive and scholarly.  It was compiled by a former curate of  St Mary’s  Rev’d Kingsley Jones on 1974. We are extremely grateful for this work which discusses in great detail  all of the history of the church and the surrounding area of Penwortham.

The index below indicates the breadth of this work and we are extremely grateful to Kingsley Jones for his endeavour.  Click on any of the headings to navigate around our history.
