Site History - The existing site has been live for around 15 months. The software it was created in was a bit limiting so when I got a new computer, I changed to FrontPage. All right, it's Microsoft, but it does the job - although only after teething difficulties. Because of other commitments, it's taken me a while to get the new site up and running with something more like the content I originally envisaged.

The plans for this site are to make it a community resource for Penwortham. As such, there's already a lot of material I want to put on.  As it says on quite a few pages, if there's anything you want to see included, please get in touch with me and I'll see what we can do.

This update log will map progress - probably in fits and starts, but we will get there.

2nd January - My apologies to the Dramatic society. I've only just realised that for some unknown reason you vanished from the website last month. You are now back!

2nd December - A Red Letter Day. It's finally there in print! Thanks to Jacqui, Chris the Vicar has a proper biography page!! Thanks are also due to all the other people who have responded to my pestering to get stuff onto the site - especially to Iain, who does a lot of pestering on my behalf.

I was rather optimistic in October. Unfortunately, the paid employment took my life over, so the Penwortham Today section never got any further. So now I'm going for a launch date at the back end of December.

8th October AM- A good start to a Monday - the site is now publishing properly, so I can get on with the content.

4th October - The new website goes live today - 4 days late, but I forgot the Great North Run (how I don't know!). The design has been refreshed and what was there before now works properly. The navigation has been improved. The original site was intended to have one page on Penwortham's history. I've now been bitten by the research bug, so there's the start of what will end up a sizeable section. The Penwortham Today section is well underway and should start to appear next week.

4th October Part 2 - Not a good start! The graphics on the navigation have fried, although the navigation still works. So that sorts the next job!
